Hold On To Your Faith

Anchor Scripture: Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him:”Job 13: 15a

Scripture References: Job 23: 8 – 12

Admonition
Greetings from the Throne of Grace!

Another word for faith is TRUST. So, this morning, God is calling us to trust Him whatever our situations might be.

The natural man will instinctually try as hard as possible to avoid pains and discomforts. However, the book of Job 5: 7 speaks a truth that is a common heritage of all humans. It says, Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.” And Job 14: 1 corroborates this truth, saying, Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.” These are truth which no man has been able to disprove.

Resting on these Scriptures, I do tell people during Bible classes that there is no man without his own trouble, no matter how little. And this is true irrespective of whom you are, what you have and or where you were born; we all have our own measures of troubles. The problem really is that probably of social status, most of us do look at some others as problem-free, and indeed, some people do so pose. But I tell you, it’s a lie!

Now, since things are like this, what do we do? My answer will be that we ought to be people like Job. My little study through the Scriptures has shown that the reason many people could not FINISH STRONG with God was lack of faith. Hebrews 11: 6 makes it clear that without faith, no man can please God. I should think that that is a truism, even in a man-to-man relationship (Amos 3: 3).

In our anchor Scripture this morning, Job declares that even if God killed him, he will still continue to trust God. You may wonder why, check Romans 8: 28. I make bold to declare to you this morning that that is the kind of FAITH that comes out troubles and calamities. God wants us to trust Him wholeheartedly no matter how terrible our situation may become because He alone, has the solution. I have mentioned it severally that God is not interested in “on and off” faith; His interest is in people who are ready to stand, come what may.

But for time and space, we could go on and on. However, if God permits, we may expand this admonition further. But know this today: FINISHING STRONG in and with God requires that you stand with Him in ALL situations you may find yourself.

Till tomorrow when we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together, keep keeping on in Him!
