Abound in the Work 2

Anchor Scripture:No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. 2 Timothy 2: 4

Admonition
Greetings to you, from the Throne of Grace, blessed children of God.
My Senior Teacher, the Holy Spirit, said He would not love to leave us in limbo as regards yesterday’s topic, Abound in the Work, hence, this second part in which He desires to take us through a few things that do make one abandon the work instead of abounding in the work.

Our anchor Scripture today warns of entangling ourselves with the “affairs of this life.” Brethren, those are the things that may ensure that one does not abound in the work. The book of 1 John 2: 16 mentioned what these “affairs of this life” are: “lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.” That verse of the Bible makes it very clear to us that all these are “not of the Father.”

A cursory look at things mentioned in Galatia 5: 19 – 21 come under this heading of “affairs of this life,” but Galatia 5: 19a calls them “the works of the flesh” which is directly in relation with 1 John 2: 16 mentioned above. A quick glance through Romans 8: 5 – 8 points to the fact that anyone that entangles themselves with these things cannot please God, therefore, such people can’t FINISH STRONGLY with God. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, mentioned something in relation to this in John 3: 6 saying, “that which is born of the flesh is flesh: and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”

The Spirit and the Flesh are worlds apart. In the Apostolic era according to the Bible, it is not possible to live in both worlds at the same time (Mat. 6: 24), but heretic teachings and ugly doctrines have licensed Christians to dwell in both at the same time today. That is why you would see a so-called Christian come out of night club and enter church and start “speaking in tongues.”

Examples abound in the Bible of people who tried to live in both worlds and thought they could FINISH STRONGLY, BUT FAILED. We can talk about Achan, Samson and King Saul, to mention but a few for the sake of time and space.

As we close today, “Wherefore, let him that thinketh he standeth take heed, lest he fall.” (1 Cor. 10: 12). So, don’t say it can’t happen to you, it can happen to anybody. It has happened to me before. As you attend different parties and other unGodly gatherings, you’re entangling yourself (1 Cor. 15: 33). Please, watch it, lest you failed to FINISH STRONG!

"As you attend different parties and other unGodly
gatherings, you’re entangling yourself (1 Cor. 15: 33)"

Till tomorrow when we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together, keep keeping on in Him!

Yours in Him,
