Admonition
Greetings from the Throne of Grace!
Yesterday,
the Holy Spirit of God admonished us to watch the companies we keep because our
association with them could make us do things that are contrary to the Kingdom’s
choice. And an example was given of Jehoshaphat. May God help us in Jesus name,
amen.
Today, we
are being told to “Walk in the Spirit”. The
Holy Spirit was given to us as Guardian to help and keep us in and on the way
to the Kingdom. The Holy Spirit is a teacher, meant to teach us right from
wrong and He helps us in making the right choices. Most often, we found
ourselves between those two extremes, right
and wrong. While the former is of the Spirit, the latter is of the flesh,
of the world.
Essentially,
however, we have been told not to love the world and the things that are in the
world because they are not of the Father (1 John 2: 15 – 17); they are not of
the Spirit. We will be equipped to effectively heed this warning if we “Walk in the Spirit”. That is what our
focus Scripture this morning says.
But to “Walk in the Spirit” is never automatic
because one who will walk in the Spirit
MUST have the Spirit of God which is only available to TRUE children of God who
are genuinely born-again. One a dangerous trend that is very common in the Christendom today is that many
Christians live on the assumption that they are born
again, most especially when they are successful and have the trimmings of
life.
"many Christians live on the assumption that they are born again"
According to
John 3: 18, God’s condemnation, is automatically and originally meant for those
who refused to be born-again because
when we are in the flesh, we cannot please God (Rom. 8: 8) and flesh and blood
cannot inherit God’s Kingdom (1 Cor. 15: 50). But as I have said before and I
have always maintained, the goal of anyone who calls themselves children of God
should be to make heaven when the trumpet shall sound. And that should not be
based on assumptions. We need to be sure, and we can be sure!
"God’s condemnation, is automatically and originally meant for those who refused to be born-again"
So, as we
close this morning, let every Christian know that pleasing God is not really dancing and singing in church
every Sunday, but in walking in tandem with the dictates of the Spirit of God.
We MUST turn from the works of the flesh to the works of the Spirit. May God
help us all. Amen.
Till tomorrow when
we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together,
please, keep keeping on in Him.
