Admonition
Greetings to you from the Throne of Grace, brethren!
The real
reason we were made was to work for God. Immediately Adam was created, God
apportioned to him the work to do for Him (Gen. 2: 15, 20). We must all strive hard to work for God. And
the work must be continuous as the Scripture says, “always abounding . . . .”
First, we need to understand what the work of the Lord
really is: it is to propagate the
Kingdom of God; that was all Jesus Christ was concerned with while here on
earth. Different denominations today, by reason of their doctrines, have
different understanding of what constitutes God’s work. However, I put it to
you that whatever you are doing where you are that does not directly translate to
people’s salvation, edification or perfection is just a religious assignment,
not God’s work.
I want to
submit that “always abounding in the work of God” is a difficult assignment to
carry out, because it requires grace to remain, abounding in the work because
of the dedication it often requires. However, He says, “My grace is sufficient
for you.” In the Bible, many people started out very well with daunting strength
and dedication. However, they never FINISHED STRONG because they failed to
abound in the work.
In John 4:
34, Jesus Christ says His meat (food) is “to do the will of him that sent me and to finish his work.” He repeated this in John 9: 4. Little wonder He
FINISHED STRONG!
Samson, on
the other hand for example, despite being anointed right from his mother’s womb
never finished strong, even though he started very strongly because he failed
to abound in the work for which he was both chosen and anointed.
"Whatever you are doing where you are that does not directly translate to people’s salvation, edification or perfection is just a religious assignment, not God’s work."
Till
tomorrow when we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG
together, keep keeping on in Him!
Yours in
Him,
