Admonition
Greetings
from the Throne of Grace!
I once
worshipped with a prosperity preaching church where fruitfulness was conceived and
preached by the big bishop as having all the trimmings of life. This is the
kind of lies that most of us like. That is why such churches are always packed
full because we want those things that will later be consumed by fire, but not
the indestructible salvation of God which will purchase a mansion for us in the
coming new Jerusalem. But we thank God for His Spirit of Truth that has come to
dispel all the lies and heresies of these workers of iniquity who preach the
other gospel.
My forefathers
were agrarian and so I know quite a lot about farming. And one the salient
truth about farming is that farmers, either mechanized or subsistence, do it in
order to reap crops (fruits). These crops are the rewards of the farmers’
labour for the period of farming, and whenever these rewards are not
forthcoming, farmers are never happy.
In the same
vein, God created us and had mercy on us after the Fall of man in Eden by
sending Jesus Christ to die for our sins so that we may regain the nature of
God that we lost through sin, by which we become new creatures (2 Cor. 5: 17). God
expects that just as Jesus Christ disciple you (if you are truly saved, and not
just a nominal Christian), you too will disciple others, and bring them into
the Kingdom of God.
As a child
of God, if you refused to be fruitful, our anchor Scripture this morning warns
of an impending hewing down; I pray that will not be your portion in Jesus’
name, amen. But sincerely speaking, God is interested in our fruitfulness for
the Kingdom. In John 15: 6, Jesus Christ repeated and expanded this Word,
saying, that such a branch will be not only be hewn down, but will also be cast
into fire. Again, that will not be your portion in Jesus’ name, amen.
As we round off
today, brethren, be not deceived, being unfruitful is a sin and could cause a
supposed child of God to lose heaven; that is why the Master mentioned being
cast into fire and burnt in John 15: 6. So, go out and win souls for Christ
into the Kingdom of God!
Till tomorrow when we shall meet again on this beautiful
journey of FINISHING STRONG together, keep keeping on in Him!
