Admonition
Greetings
from the Throne of Grace!
Yesterday,
the Holy Spirit took us on a brief tour of what faith really is. However, we
were able to see a faithfully stubborn fellow saying even if he died, he will
still continue to TRUST his killer (God). Brethren, that’s practical faith at
work.
Few days
ago, I was privileged, by His grace, to minister in a fairly large church. In
the course of the ministration, we touched this topic of faith and I was
inspired to tell them the kind of faith, deaf and blind, that receives from
God. What we discussed yesterday was the deaf faith that doesn’t hear what
people are saying (side-talks), but only what the Master is saying. That was
Job’s kind of faith. If you read the book of Job very well, you’ll see what I
am talking about as there were attempts by his friends, through their words,
to make him sin against God, but he never did because he refused to hear them.
"A deaf faith doesn’t hear what people are saying (side-talks), but only what the Master is saying."
Our anchor
Scripture this morning talks about Simon Peter who saw the Master walking on
the sea and requested to do same. Jesus Christ commanded him to walk and, hallelujah,
Peter walked on the sea, too, just like the master Himself. But along the line,
he shifted his focus from Jesus Christ, and he saw the wind. At that moment, he
began to sink!
What this
story teaches us is that our faith must be blind in order not to see
the wind. The wind, which is the totality of the people around us,
their words of advice and discouragement and ways of life and what have you, will
definitely come and blow very hard. If I told you that because you’re born
again, you’re in Jesus Christ, therefore no wind will blow, I will be deceiving
you. Winds shall blow in the course of
you exercising your faith. However, it’s your choice whether to see the
wind or not. Simon Peter saw the wind and began to sink!
"Our faith must be blind in order not to see the wind."
The only way
you may not see the wind is to train your faith to be blind by keeping your
focus on Jesus Christ, the Author and Finisher of your faith.
Let me
quickly mention here that you don’t need an intermediary, in the name of
Pastor, prophet, G.O. or whatever, between you and Jesus Christ because in the course of running here and there, you may see the wind and by so doing,
shipwreck your faith. So, keep your focus on Jesus Christ.
As we round
off today, don’t forget that FINISHING STRONG is a MUST for you and I. And we
won’t achieve it if our faith is not deaf and blind! Remember, WITHOUT
FAITH, NO MAN CAN PLEASE THE LORD (Heb. 11: 6)
Till tomorrow when we shall meet again on this beautiful
journey of FINISHING STRONG together, keep keeping on in Him!
