For my thoughts are
not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.”

Admonition
Greetings from the Throne of Grace!
There is no doubt that this week has been a great one in His
presence. From knowing what God’s Will really is, all through to the basic
tests to know whether something is God’s Will. I don’t know about you, but for
me, the Holy Spirit has been so awesome. So, to cap it all this week, the Holy
Spirit will be teaching us today, how to really seek God’s Will regarding any
matter whatsoever.
One of the major obstacles to obtaining the Will of God is
that we often come to Him with a list of our preferences regarding what we are
believing Him for. This means, we often make the mistake of creating and carry the same to Him, a mental picture of what we want before asking Him whether it is
His Will. That is to say that we often look for a rubber stamp god who will
just stamp what we brought before him and call it his own will. It is like
setting up an idol in our hearts before coming to inquire of the Lord; it
estranges us from God (Ezekiel 14: 1 – 5). This is a very, very wrong attitude
in seeking God’s Will in any matter. The Bible asks us to humble ourselves
before the Lord that we may be lifted high (James 4: 10; 1 Pet. 5: 6). By the
aforementioned attitude, we are not showing any humility. The right thing to do
is to submit our own will to Him (Luke 22: 42; John 5: 30, 6: 38). So, be
humble and submissive to receive the true Will of God.
The next huddle to cross in seeking God’s Will regarding any
matter is that of TRUST or FAITH. By coming to Him at all, we ought to believe
that He is able and that we could actually entrust the matter to Him. If this
requirement is not there, then, we may not even bother going to Him at all. The
book of Hebrews 11: 6 warns about this by saying that “without faith, it is impossible to please God.” So, when we want
to seek the Will of God regarding any matter, we must trust Him to give us the
best. That is part of what our Focus Scripture this morning is saying that if
we seek Him with all our hearts (without doubting), we will find Him.
The last point we would mention this morning on this topic is
that before seeking the Will of God on any matter, we MUST have sincerely decided to do whatever His
Will regarding the matter. Remember, God cannot be mocked (Gal. 6: 7); He sees
our hearts and could determine the sincerity of the heart that is seeking Him
(1 Samuel 16: 7). For one, we ought to know that it dishonours God to give us
His choice in a matter, but because of our haughty personal interests, decide
not to honour God’s choice. That is why when God looks into the heart seeking
Him but could not find the needed sincerity, He may decline to give His Will
until that person is sincerely ready to do what God says.
Brethren, as we close out this topic this morning, let every
reader of these words know that we didn’t make ourselves; God made us, and for a
purpose, too. We are like manufactured gadgets that were made to serve a
purpose, and any attempt to use the gadget for the wrong purpose, it
malfunctions. That is why the lives of many Christians today are in tatters,
begging for remedy. Two, doing contrary to the Will of God is like directly
fighting against God; nobody who does that will ever FINISH STRONG with God (Isaiah
45: 9; Acts 5: 39; Hebrew 10: 31).
Till Monday when
we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together,
please, keep keeping on in Him.
N. B. Please, pray that God will give you a
humble heart and lead and guide you always.
God bless you! Amen.
