Admonition
Greetings from the Throne of Grace!
As said on Monday, our FINISHING STRONG in and with God is dependent upon whether we are living in His presence as His true children, or not. And the Holy Spirit is calling our keen attention to the synergy amongst this week’s daily topics without which we may not really appreciate what living in His presence actually entails. If you need to go over all the topics again, please, do.
The Holy Spirit says everything we have spoken about since Monday is dependent on Being Obedient to Him. This is it: no one can claim to be living in His presence, if not continually found in Him; it is impossible to be continually found in Him if we are not acquainted with Him; being in constant fear, not being at peace in Him, is a testimony to the fact that we are not acquainted with Him. All these are impossible without obedience to Him. May the good Lord grant us understanding in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.
Simply put, obedience
is doing exactly what an instructor says; that is, carrying out an instruction
to the letter. A situation of the kind that culminated in our Focus
Scripture this morning that is found in 1 Samuel 15: 2 - 9 cannot be regarded
as obedience because as far as God is concerned, partial obedience is no obedience at all.
Unfortunately, what most of us grew up into as Christians is the offering of sacrifice instead of being totally obedient to God. In fact, that is what over 90% of messages coming from the pulpit these days emphasize. And they are so cleverly cooked by the devil to look as the important thing because they are made as the righteous things to do. For example, there are many messages today that emphasize prayers; prayers, prayers and prayers alone! However, when obedience is lacking, fire prayers are useless because they go unanswered by God (Pro. 15: 6, 26; Jer. 7: 16, 11: 11, 14, 14: 12; Eze. 20: 3, 31).
Perhaps, many of us do not see or know disobedience as a sin, but I always tell people that disobedience is the mother of all sins, and no one who is disobedient to God will ever FINISH STRONG with Him because God sees disobedience to Him as a form of rebellion; a challenge of His authority (Exo. 5: 2). In fact, as far as God is concerned, a disobedient person and a witch are in the same league (1 Samuel 15: 23). That is, for example, if you are the type that is never satisfied with what you have when God says, thou shall not covet (Exo. 20: 17), you and a witch are the same before God.
So, as we close this morning, let us know that FINISHING STRONG in God is a function of living in Him, which of course will be impossible if we are disobedient to Him (Amos 3: 3). Therefore, as true children of God, let us strive to achieve total obedience before our Father. It is doable; He Himself will help us to be obedient to Him in Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
Till tomorrow when we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together, please, keep keeping on in Him!
