Admonition
Greetings from the Throne of Grace!
I welcome you into another beautiful week in His presence. It
is my sincere prayer that the good Lord will again enlighten and strengthen us
in His Word that we may FINISH STRONG in Him in Jesus’ name. Amen. This week
the Holy Spirit of God has chosen to speak to us about God’s presence. May we
be richly blessed in the Word in Jesus’ name. Amen.
This week, our anchor Scripture is asking a very pertinent
which in another way could mean, ‘who can come into God’s presence?’ This topic
of discussion, brethren could possibly form a long series because as the Holy Spirit
ministered it, it has three parts, with the first part examining what it means
to be living in His presence, the second part exploring the qualifications for
coming into His presence and the last part enumerating the benefits of living
in His presence. May the good Lord see us through in Jesus Christ’s mighty
name. Amen.
Our focus Scripture this morning, Hebrews 10: 38, is sounding
a note of warning that informed our topic. The focus Scripture warns against
drawing back and God says He won’t be pleased with anyone who draws back. Turned
inside out, what God is saying is that we
must be continually found in Him.
I used to attend a Pentecostal
fellowship when I first got into the university. One Sunday like that, the
resident Pastor spoke about some people who give their lives to Jesus Christ
every Sunday. This is it: when the altar call is made this Sunday, they come out
and give their lives, but latest by Tuesday, they get lured back into the world
like Demas (2 Timothy 4: 10), by which they will, literally speaking, take
their lives back, use it from that Tuesday till Saturday and come back the next
Sunday to give it to Jesus Christ again.
Above is the exact kind of Christian live that many live in
the church today; they are holy children of God on Sunday and while inside the
church, but immediately after, the kind of friends they keep, the kind of
dresses they wear, the kind of words that come out of their mouths, the kind of the music they sing and listen to, the kind of dances they dance, the kind of
places they go to and generally, the kind of lifestyle they live till they
appear in church next Sunday questions whether they have ever been in the
presence of God.
Essentially brethren, as TRUE children of God, we need to
develop the consciousness that wherever we found ourselves, the presence of God
is there. As the Holy Spirit ministered to me at the beginning of this ministry
in 2001, most of the anomalies in the Christendom today are due to the wrong
teachings, heresies, we received into our consciousness in the past. For example,
some have been conditioned to believe that they are only in the presence of God
only when they are in the church. So, such people have developed the mentality
of living their lives the way they want as long as they are not in God’s presence, the church.
"As TRUE children of God, we need to develop the consciousness that wherever we found ourselves, the presence of God is there."
The book of Job 34: 21, however, says, “For his eyes are upon the ways of man, and he seeth all his goings.” Can you imagine that? That is, wherever we
go and or we may be, God’s eyes, and by implication, His presence is there
with us. Meaning that as TRUE children of His, we are carriers of His glorious
presence. Prove this position in the life of Prophet Elijah in 1 Kings 17: 1 and
1 Kings 18: 15. In both verses of the Bible, Prophet Elijah displayed that
consciousness that wherever he was and no matter who was there, he was in the
presence of the living God.
As we close this
morning, it is this consciousness of God’s presence wherever we are that
enables our living in His Presence
because that consciousness prevents us from sinning against Him by which we
automatically leave His presence (Hab. 1: 13). As rightly admonished by our
focus Scripture this morning, our FINISHING STRONG is anchored on not
drawing back, but being continually found in Him because God is not
interested in on and off Christians.
Till tomorrow when
we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together,
please, keep keeping on in Him.
N. B. Please, pray that God will give you the
grace for the consciousness of His presence wherever you may found yourself in
Jesus Christ’s mighty name. Amen.
God bless you! Amen.
