UNDERSTANDING THE WILL OF GOD: You Need the Holy Spirit
Anchor Scripture: Isaiah 55:8
For my thoughts are
not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.”
Focus Scripture: “. . . even so the things of God knoweth no man,
but the Spirit of God.”
– 1 Corinthians 2: 11
Admonition
Greetings from the Throne of Grace!
Yesterday,
the Holy Spirit of God taught that if we must understand our Father’s Will,
then, we must not lean on our
understanding. It was a teaching that I enjoyed so much because it humbled
me.
In our
anchor Scripture for this week, God made clear to us that He doesn’t think the
way we do and the way He works are often contrary to ours. But because we know
His thoughts for us, at all times, are good (Jer. 29: 11), we MUST therefore
desire to know what He thinks about every topic in our lives, especially,
before taking any steps.
However, as
our Focus Scripture portends this morning, the only Person Who looks into and
understands the mind and thoughts of God is THE HOLY SPIRIT because He comes from God. We should not forget
that one of the ministries of the Holy Spirit is to “teach you all things, and bring
all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
Now you can see that we have a loving Father!
Therefore, for us to really understand the mind of God and know His
Will, firsthand, and not need to rely on third parties in the form of prophets,
pastors, spiritual diviners, etc., we must have the Holy Spirit. It is a MUST because He is the One through Whom
God will communicate His Will to us.
But let me quickly disabuse your mind of the heretic teaching that we
all have the Holy Spirit. It is a lie! The Holy Spirit is the seal of God on
every believer, therefore, to be a partaker of the Holy Spirit of God, you MUST
have been born again (John 1: 12, 3: 1 – 6) and making conscious efforts to
abandon the world (Rom. 12: 1 – 2; 1 John 2: 15 – 17). It is the indwelling of
the Holy Spirit that makes us new creations (2 Cor. 5: 17), not mere mouth
confession.
Brethren, as we close this morning, let us know that:
(1) It is the
Holy Spirit that confirms our Sonship in God (John 1: 12), and
(2) Except
and until we are led by the Holy Spirit, we are not yet children of God (Rom.
8: 14), and finally,
(3) It is the
Holy Spirit that knows the mind of God.
Therefore, if we desire to FINISH STRONG in Him, we must understand and
know what He thinks about every topic before we take any steps because a road
that seems right to us may actually lead to death (Prov. 14: 12, 16: 25).
Till tomorrow when
we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together,
please, keep keeping on in Him.
N. B. Please, if you are not born again yet,
but have just been attending church, acknowledge that you are a sinner, confess
your sins to God and ask for forgiveness. Make a decision to forget the world
and ask for the Holy Spirit of God to come into your life in Jesus Christ’s Name.
Amen.
God bless you! Amen.
