Know Your God
Anchor Scripture: "I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine." - John 10:14
Scripture References: John 10: 1 - 18; Acts 17: 16 - 34
Admonition
Greetings from the Throne of Grace.
It was supposed to be a thing of great joy that today there are many more people in the church that it used to be in the past. However, our conducts call for more reflections than celebrations for we are more like the Athenians of the Apostle Paul's days who set up an altar to an UNKNOWN GOD.
Howbeit that those Athenians had images of worship as a sign of their idolatry, we today have set up, albeit in our hearts, human images that we worship, either knowingly or unknowingly. Hence, we wittingly or unwittingly serve the UNKNOWN GOD.
That is the reason that when some church leaders die, many of their followers become disillusioned and backslide (backslide from the church because they never knew the true God) because the person they believed have died; their own Jesus Christ is dead and wouldn't be coming back.
It is when things like that happened in a congregation that one will know those who truly know the God they serve and those who don't. That is why, Jesus Christ, in our anchor Scripture this morning is telling us that He knows that are His and they too in turn, know Him.
As we round off this morning, the Holy Spirit says we need not be like those Athenians who were serving the UNKNOWN GOD. You can know God yourself; He is not hidden from us.
Till tomorrow when we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together, please keep keeping on in Him!
