DEVELOPING THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD: Why We Need To Know God

Greetings from the Throne of Grace!
I welcome you, my beloved brethren, in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, to another beautiful week of spiritual tutorials at His feet. I pray that the good Lord will uphold us all to the end and ensure that we FINISH STRONG in Him in Jesus' name. Amen.
This week, the main topic the Holy Spirit wishes to teach on is titled: DEVELOPING THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD. Personally, I found this topic of much importance to our Christian race if we actually desired to FINISH STRONG and be counted worthy on the Last Day. DEVELOPING THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD becomes more important so that we don't continue to worship or serve an "unknown God" like the people of Athen in those days (Acts 17: 22-23). But in actual fact, that is the experience of most Christians in our churches today. The knowledge of God is so uncommon so much that many people, as I said sometimes ago, serve or worship their pastors and founders, erroneously believing they are serving or worshipping God.
Another reason this topic becomes important is what is stated in our Anchor Scripture this morning, CONTROVERSY WITH GOD. God was not happy with the people of Prophet Hosea's time, and He picked a quarrel or controversy with them because they had no knowledge of Him. If He did then, and what Hebrews 13: 8 says is anything to go by, He won't be happy with us, too, if we lacked His knowledge.
And the Bible says "Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker!" (Isaiah 45: 9a), and because it is a war no one can win, the Bible yet again says that "It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God." (Hebrews 10: 31). Therefore, to avoid unnecessary woes from God and the possibility of falling into fearful His hands, we need His knowledge in us.
Another reason the Knowledge of God becomes very important in this race is to avoid us remaining novices and thereby falling into the condemnation of the devil (1 Timothy 3: 6). The devil has many devices with which he had made a mess of many Christians in the past. And Apostle Paul spoke through the Holy Spirit, saying, "Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices." (2 Corinthians 2:11). Many Christians in the past were ignorant of his devices and he got advantage of them and shipwrecked their faith.
The last important reason we need to have the knowledge of God is for our relationship with Him, our Father, to be with less friction. A good grasp of His knowledge will bring us into a smooth and sweet relationship with Him because we would be in agreement with Him. That is why the book of Amos 3: 3 queried, saying, "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" Without His knowledge, we can't be in agreement with Him, and that means we can't walk together with Him. When this happens, such a person would, automatically, be walking with the devil, and invariably, may not FINISH STRONG. I pray that will not be our testimonies in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Amen.
Finally, one of the reasons Apostle Paul was able to FINISH STRONG as espoused by the book of 2 Timothy 4 : 8 was because in walking with God, he had a good knowledge of Whom he was walking with. He, like Job, was never in the dark of Who God is and how God works such that even when the devil comes with his devices, Apostle Paul was able to repel him using our weapons of war (Ephesians 6: 12 - 17). But Apostle Paul desired to know God as written in our Focus Scripture this morning. That was his secret; HE KNEW GOD AND HE FINISHED STRONG IN THE LORD. May this be our testimonies on the Last Day in Jesus' name. Amen.
