DEVELOPING THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD : Suspend Your Brain
Anchor Scripture: Hosea 4: 1
"Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth . . . nor knowledge of God in the land."
Focus Scripture: "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." - 1 Corinthians 1:19
Greetings from the Throne of Grace!
You are welcome, in the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, to the second part of this series which is considered to be a very important foundation of our journey in and with God.
As the main topic says, there is the need for us to develop and sustain the knowledge of God in order to FINISH STRONG in Him and be counted worthy on the Last Day. It is a truism that many in the church today lack the knowledge of God as in; Who is God? What does God want from us, humans? What are His preferences? How does He expects us to live? Answers to these and many more questions make the knowledge of God a very important arsenal on this journey.
The topic this morning is asking us to suspend our brains if we must develop the right knowledge of God. The word "right" came in because there are wrong knowledge of God as well. That reminds me of when He gave me the name of this ministry, back in year 2002. I asked Him, "Lord, why Bible-way?" And He said "because there are many gospels in the world today that are not according to the Bible." So brethren, just as there is the right knowledge of God, there are also wrong knowledge of Him.
We cannot understand God by our human reasoning. There are too many things He does that our reasoning cannot comprehend. Psalm 19 mentioned some and the rest are scattered all over the Bible. Even, looking around us, we see many of His wonders. They are too numerous that time and space will not permit us to start mentioning here. That is the reason that if we must understand God, we won't need our brains. Or how would Moses have explained to the Israelites what happened at the Red Sea before it happened? How will your brain explain a ninety years old woman getting pregnant and giving birth to a bouncing baby boy? How will you explain that little bowl of flour and a bottle of oil that refused to finish but lasted three and a half years at Zarephath? How will you explain Jesus Christ's walking on the sea or the raising of Lazarus back to life?
To prove the uselessness of our brains in walking with Him, He would choose the weakest things and use them while neglecting the strongest ones. He would choose the most foolish path to prove wrong the one the world considers wisest. And in doing all these, He will achieve wondrous results. I have many personal testimonies around this topic that had proven to me over and over again that when God is involved, human brains are useless. I once listened to Daddy Adeboye's testimony of how he drove over many kilometers without fuel in the car. He only obeyed what God told him: "don't look at the dashboard again." And until he got to his house and parked the car, the car never stopped. Now, if the ones mentioned in the previous paragraph are too far, how do we reason this one out?
I want to encourage us to subscribe to this blog so that we get this devotionals as soon as they are published here without me posting it all over the places again. Please, this becomes imperative because of the number of places I had to post to, everyday. I actually intended, to afford me time to attend to other areas of the ministry, to stop posting around. Therefore, as from Monday, 8th June, 2020, only subscribers to this blog will be getting subsequent editions of FINISHING STRONG. Show your love for the Word of God by just clicking on the "SUBSCRIBE" button on top of this or any other post. Do the captcha and remember to check your email to finish the subscription. Thanks, and God bless you richly! Focus Scripture: "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent." - 1 Corinthians 1:19

"there are gospels in the world today that are not according to the Bible."So, why should one suspend their brains if they must have the right knowledge of God? That is because we can't understand God by our human reasoning which works by logic. God is too logical to be understood by logical reasoning. Every attempts, in the past, to reason Him out has always ended in more confusions than the researchers started with. Why? That's because God, as said by our Focus Scripture this morning does intentionally destroy the wisdom of those who think they are wise. In fact, the Bible calls the world's wisdom, foolishness before God. It is for this reason that Jesus Christ says that the secret of the Kingdom is given unto babies because babies don't have any knowledge that they could use to argue things out and reason on the appropriateness of anything. The time we humans begin to have problems with God is when we started growing up and are able to make choices.
"God is too logical to be understood by logical reasoning."There was a message breathed on me from above sometimes ago which I went about with inside buses for weeks preaching. It was titled, "God is foolish." However, the conclusion of that message was that the foolishness of God is wiser than the wisdom of men (1 Corinthians 1:25).. People who know me in person know that I used to be very brilliant academically. But God proved to me through many events that culminated in me accepting His calling that there is a smatter way, God's Way, of doing things. Very early in the ministry, He made it clear that He was the one in charge; He doesn't need whatever I think I know.

REMEMBER TO SUBSCRIBEAs we round off today Beloved brethren, we need to develop the true and right knowledge of God, but our brains and whatever we think we know could become an albatross or an obstruction to stand between us and our desired knowledge of God. Therefore, when coming to God, empty your brain so that God may fill it up. I always tell Him that I know nothing, that He should come and teach me. I don't know the way, He should come and lead. I always ask to see His big footprints that I may plant mine in them. That's the kind of attitude that can understand and develop the right knowledge of God because God doesn't fill already filled vessels, but empty ones.
"When God is involved, human brain is useless."
Till tomorrow when we shall meet again on this beautiful journey of FINISHING STRONG together, please, keep keeping on in Him!
N. B. Please, pray that God will give you a humble spirit to always bring yourself low before Him. And that as you do so, He will reveal Himself to you in Jesus' name. Amen.
