HOW TO BECOME A TRUE CHILD OF GOD:: AVOID DISCRIMINATION

Anchor Scripture:  2 Corinthians 6: 18 "And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." Focus Scripture:  " But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. "   -  James 2: 9 Admonition Greetings from the Throne of Grace. In Psalm 19: 13, David pleaded against one type of sin which is very common in our different denominations all over the places today; the sin of presumption. I know that many of us read that Psalm and especially now, that verse, without knowing what it means and we go away just like that. A deed is of presumption if done without proper authority or permission. It therefore becomes a sin, and according to the book of Numbers 15: 30 - 31, it wouldn't matter who the doer is, such a person is a transgressor, having contravened the law.  The Bible repeatedly says that "God is no respecter of persons." (Deut. 10: 17, Romans 2: 11, Acts 10

HOW TO BECOME A TRUE CHILD OF GOD: Beware of Unbelievers

Anchor Scripture:  2 Corinthians 6: 18 "And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." Focus Scripture:  " Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, . . . and I will receive you," -  2 Corinthians 6:17   Admonition Greetings from the Throne of Grace. God, our Father, had always been very critical about who and or the kind of people His children should and could be friends with. Right from the time He set out to deliver the Israelites from the bondage of Egypt, the most important warning He gave them was joining themselves with the inhabitants of the lands they were going to occupy. He warned them to the extent that they must not do intermarriage with them. Such was the importance God attached to His children's choice of company.  However, what became of Christianity after the exit of the foremost Apostles? Christians changed the laws of God under the guise that they want to

HOW TO BECOME A TRUE CHILD OF GOD: Submit To The Holy Spirit

Anchor Scripture:  2 Corinthians 6: 18 "And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." Focus Scripture: " For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." -  Romans 8:14    Admonition Greetings from the Throne of Grace. Yesterday, the need for us to move from the general love of God to the very special love of His was emphasized because His general love is for everyone and it does not make us true children until we accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour (John 1: 12). Genuine acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour do bring about the necessary experiences of having a broken spirit and a contrite heart. These twin experiences bring about genuine repentance which is necessary for the experience of true salvation. This is what many people who claim to be children of God in our churches today lack. That's why there is usually no changes in their lives even after they

HOW TO BECOME A TRUE CHILD OF GOD: Receive Christ Jesus

Anchor Scripture: 2 Corinthians 6: 18 "And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." Focus Scripture: "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:" - John 1:12   Admonition  Greetings from the Throne of Grace! In the book of 2 Timothy 2: 20, the Bible speaks of how in a great house there are different kinds of vessels made of different materials and which are therefore fit for different uses; some by the Master, while some not. Like this great house is God Himself, Whom many people on earth call their Father. In actual fact, we may all claim God to be our Father, albeit in a general sense because He created us all, but the truth is that He knows those who are His TRUE children (John 10: 14, 27). "in a great house there are different kinds of vessels made of different materials and which are therefore fit for different uses&qu

HOW TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT: DIVINE APPOINTMENT

Anchor Scripture:  John 6: 63 " It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: . . . ." Focus Scripture:  "Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. "  - Jeremiah 1: 5 Admonition Greetings from the Throne of Grace. Another way, and which I considered the most potent and authentic means of receiving the Holy Spirit is by special divine appointment. The other ways of receiving the Holy Spirit which we discussed earlier are often prompted, and could be obstructed and corrupted by man. That is the reason many people who have received the Holy Spirit and enjoyed His grace by manifesting may suddenly become empty and ordinary because of one thing or the other which they did contrary to the dictates of the Holy Spirit and because of which the Holy Spirit has ledt them. That's why we often read in the Bible that "the Spiri

HOW TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT: Through Impartation

Anchor Scripture:  John 6: 63 " It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: . . . ." Focus Scripture:  "Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost . "  - Acts 8:17 Admonition Greetings from the Throne of Grace. Early Christians of old perfectly understood Who the Holy Spirit is and His inalienable importance both to the person having Him and more importantly, to the Christian race. That's why they heeded Christ's instruction not to go to anywhere or do anything (Luke 24: 49) until the promise was fulfilled in Acts 2: 1 - 4. Also, they knew no one can live the strict actual Christian lifestyle without the Holy Spirit. That informed their non-acceptance of anyone who has not been baptized and imparted with the Holy Spirit into their midst. "no one can live the strict actual Christian lifestyle without the Holy Spirit." Today, the reverse is the case in most ministries because as long as anyone

HOW TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT: Ask

Anchor Scripture:  John 6: 63 " It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: . . . ." Focus Scripture: ". . . how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" -  Luke11:13    Admonition Greetings from the Throne of Grace. Out of all the kinds of prayers there are, the most prevailent, which man prays most, is the prayer of request. And surprisingly, what man needs most, but which they least ask for is the Holy Spirit of God. Brethren, all through this almost eighteen years in the ministry, I can tell you that what rules in the different denominations I have been to is spiritual ignorance. I have seen people in prayer sessions lasting days, and running into weeks, without asking for the Holy Spirit of God. I have always said that if anyone is Spirit-filled, they don't need long hours of prayers because even the Bible says that we don't even know how to pray, it is the Holy Spirit that prays for

HOW TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT: Be Obedient

The series this week is a very common one that is often spoken about amongst Christians. In fact, the Holy Spirit has almost become a slang in some circles in the Christendom. The question however is how many people who knows the Holy Spirit has Him living in them? My Teacher, the Holy Spirit Himself, says this topic becomes imperative because of His central role in the life of every child of God who is a believer. Yes,  you read right! MyTeacher said: "every child of God who is a believer" because there are many who claim to be children of God that aren't believers. He says we shall come to that, som

MAKING YOUR LIGHT SHINE: Be Disruptive

Anchor Scripture:  Matthew 5:16   "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Focus Scripture:  " . . . and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. "   -  Esther 4: 16   Admonition Greetings from the Throne of Grace! Yeah! You read me right, beloved brethren, if your light must shine and bring glory to God in this present dark world and with state of things in the church today, you just have to be disruptive. Being disruptive in this sense is making attempts, through our own behaviours (Philippians 1: 27), to uproot heretic practices, in order to establish the true Gospel of Jesus Christ according to the Bible. In the book of Esther, chapter 4, Queen Esther, despite hearing the news that her tribe, the Jews were going to be totally ruined and destroy from the kingdom, was going to put up the kind of behaviour that many of us, pro

MAKING YOUR LIGHT SHINE: Be Conscious of God 's Presence

Anchor Scripture:  Matthew 5:16   "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Focus Scripture:  "And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not."  -  Genesis 28:16   Admonition Greetings from the Throne of Grace! In one of the lessons in the series, "How To Know The Will of God", we were schooled on the importance of having the Holy Spirit of God. For me as a person, it is a shame to call oneself a Christian, but not have the Holy Spirit. It is just like calling oneself the child of a father, but not have the right to bear the name of that father. Such a child is nothing else but a bastard. The reason behind this assertion is not farfetched; it is hinged on the fact that the Holy Spirit is God's stamp on a believer. He is the true mark of God on His children (John 1: 12; Acts 1: 8; Roman 8: 14) and this is evident all

MAKING YOUR LIGHT SHINE: Live Honestly

Anchor Scripture:  Matthew 5:16   "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." Focus Scripture: ". . . we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. "  -  Hebrews 13:18    Admonition Greetings from the Throne of Grace! Yesterday, the Holy Spirit spoke to us about the need to be honest in our conversations by saying the truth in Christ, with a conscience rooted in the Holy Ghost. The need to be honest must be very important to our FINISHING STRONG for our Senior Teacher to bring it back today. Today, the call is more general; it's about our lives in general, not just conversations. The obvious truth that many of us will not like to own up to is that we are not living honest lives, and we know it. Sometimes, we hide under our office duties and responsibilities or that of our businesses and the need to make "enough" profits to rubbish who w
